Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between you and Fish Island Circus when you book or use any part of the site. By signing up, booking a session, or hiring the space you accept these terms. Don’t use the site if you don’t.

Accounts
You’re responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure. Tell us if you suspect someone else has accessed your account. We can suspend or delete an account that’s being used to abuse the site, harass other members, or run up unpaid bookings.
Booking, payment, and cancellation
Bookings land as “pending” and become confirmed once an admin reviews them. Any payment is taken at booking time and held until confirmation; if the booking is declined the hold is released.
Cancellation: You can cancel up to 24 hours before your session for a full refund. Inside 24 hours, bookings aren’t refundable except at our discretion.
Reschedule: Members can reschedule from your account up to 48 hours before the session. Closer to the date, message us.
We may need to cancel or move a session in rare cases (kit failure, emergency closures). If we do, you get a full refund or a replacement slot — your choice.
Inductions and waiver
First-time bookers must complete an induction before training in the space. The waiver you sign at sign-up covers the normal risks of circus and aerial training. We may ask you to re-agree to an updated waiver from time to time.
TODO: solicitor review — the waiver wording itself is a separate document; check it covers exclusions UK law actually permits.
Use of the space
- Self-directed training. Respect the space and the people you share it with. Come and train, leave it the way you found it, and ask anyone if you’re not sure.
- Check kit before use. If something looks wrong, don’t rig on it — flag it to us.
- No teaching paid lessons in the space without booking a teacher session. No third parties on site without clearance.
- No abusive behaviour. Harassment of other members is grounds for immediate removal and a permanent ban.
Liability
Aerial and circus training carry inherent physical risk. By booking and using the space you accept that risk for yourself. We’re responsible for keeping the kit and the building reasonably safe; you’re responsible for your own decisions about what to rig, how high, and when to call it.
Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law doesn’t allow it (notably for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that, our total liability under these terms for any one incident is capped at the value of the booking it relates to.
TODO: solicitor review — confirm the cap is enforceable in your jurisdiction and won’t conflict with our insurance terms.
Content and intellectual property
The site, its design, photos, and copy are owned by Fish Island Circus or used with permission. You can’t republish material from the site without asking. Anything you upload (e.g. your avatar) you grant us a non-exclusive licence to host so the site can display it back to you and (where applicable) to admins.
Privacy and data
How we handle your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy. By using the site you accept the processing described there.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the site, the space, or the law changes. We’ll note the “last reviewed” date at the top of the page; for material changes that affect existing bookings we’ll surface a notice or email.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute will be settled by the courts of England and Wales.
